Lagarith makes slightly smaller working files and also works with YV12, YUY2, and RGB, so it's usually used for lossless intermediate working files. Adobe PP also has problems with some popular lossless codecs, including huffYUV, which is inexcusable for a product with "Pro" in its moniker.

Aside from VirtualDub, the only thing you may need/want to actually install is the Huffyuv codec (for most systems) or Huffyuv-Multithreaded (for dual-core and quad-core computers). These are "lossless" (not compressed) video codecs for retaining high quality on your newly-filtered or intermediary video.

The figure of 288 tells these versions of huffyuv that either NTSC or PAL interlaced is being captured at either 480 or 576 pixel height. This figure works for interlaced and progressive input. Huffyuv versions without the threshold parameter don't require it, obviously.

As was mentioned I could do a capture of an analog signal from the TRV480, using another device (i.e. USB dongle) then compress that using Vdub with Huffyuv .

2022年6月30日 · I have a bunch of captured AVIs w/HuffYUV and want to convert them to Lagarith because I'm just about out of disk space. Can someone please point me to a doc on this? I had this all pretty well in my head 2 years ago but it's not coming back the way it used to :-(My NLE (Corel VideoStudio) can read/write both so I suppose that's a fallback. Thanks.

2014年5月22日 · For Hi8/8MM tapes, I'd use the camcorder's S-Video output and audio out to pass the video to my capture system I'm building and encode the file in HuffYuv or Lagarith using Virtualdub. In between the capture card and the camera it sounds like it would be a good idea to have a full frame TBC such as the AVToolbox AVT-8710 or DataVideo TBC-1000.
