The Great Glen Fault is a strike-slip fault that runs through the Great Glen in Scotland. Occasional moderate tremors have been recorded over the past 150 years.

The Great Glen hosts the most prominent fault in the British Isles, the Great Glen Fault. It originated towards the end of the Caledonian Orogeny (around 430-390 million years ago), and cuts diagonally across the Highlands from Fort William to Inverness.

The Great Glen Fault is a tear or strike-slip fault with a displacement estimated at 64 miles (104 km). A zone of shattered rock along the length of the fault is prone to erosion and this has given rise to the development of the most extensive valley in Scotland, the Great Glen ( Glen Mor ).
