GTK (standing for "Get to Know") was an Australian popular music TV series of ten minute episodes, produced and broadcast by ABC Television from 1969 to 1975. The series title was an initialism of the phrase "Get To Know".

2024年8月19日 · GTK was a long-running ABC television programme with a focus on the Australian youth audience. The ten-minute weekday magazine-style series debuted on 4 August 1969 and broadcast until 11 December 1975, and featured ground-breaking music clips, [2] pop culture stories, and interviews.

But in 1969, the Australian ABC network made music and pop culture history with a groundbreaking, revolutionary music show that had never been seen before on television. That show was GTK (which stood for “Get To Know”). The show was aimed squarely at a youth audience, with a brief to inform, entertain and otherwise amuse.

GTK ran for ten minutes and was broadcast daily from Monday to Thursday at 6.30 pm just before the ABC's popular rural soap opera, Bellbird. The first series of GTK premiered on 4th August 1969. It was directed by noted TV and event director, Ric Birch, who was at the time the youngest director in Australian television.
