Gai Tendo (天童 てんどう 凱 がい) is the main protagonist of Buriki One, who also makes a few appearances in The King of Fighters series. He is a fighter of the martial arts system named Total Combat. He is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama.

He is a balanced stand up fighter skilled with punch and kick combos, and is also a decent grappler. When Gai heard the news of the upcoming Buriki One tournament, he decided to enter to test his skills.

Gai is a Rushdown Character, specialising in close-range combos and pinpointing gaps in an opponent's defense with the sheer amount of options at his disposal, not unlike Ángel or Nelson. While his Special Moves are combo-based, two of his three Supers are installs, which buff his combo capabilities and make them easier to pull off.
