Whereas in DOHC (dual overhead cam) setups you'll see two cams directly driving the valves: DOHC valvetrains give the highest performance of conventional setups, and have the lowest inertia and so highest rev range, but they are somewhat more difficult to service due to the fact you need to keep the timing of the two camshafts in sync as well ...

2016年4月5日 · With a DOHC setup you have 4 (or 5 sometimes) valves which does three things to improve efficiency: the total volume of two smaller ports is greater than one big port, smaller ports have greater airflow velocity and can fill cylinder more effectively and coming back to valve train weight; two small valves are lighter and require again lighter ...

2001 Mercury Sable -- Rough Idle/High RPM and Transmission Leaks
I have a 2001 Mercury Sable (24V DOHC V6) that has been having problems with its vacuum system. I live in Florida where the average temperature lately has been in the 80s. I've been experiencing a very rough idle for roughly a month now that occasionally would stall the car.
OHV vs. OHC: which is faster in speed, horse power?
2013年6月12日 · DOHC, or dual overhead camshaft, allows even freer gas flow so can provide even higher power output. OHC is easier to maintain, as more components tend to be external to the engine block, so they can be adjusted and maintained, as well as checked for problems. These days there are very few OHV engines anyway.
How to go VTEC with a D16A8 DOHC engine [closed]
2016年4月4日 · The D16A8 engine is the equivalent to the ZC DOHC engine (non-vtec). The VTEC head from the D16Y8 will not bolt on. Neither will the head from a B16A1. The head on the D16A8 is superior to that of the D16Y8 even without the VTEC. It flows better and really likes to be turbocharged. I suggest you turbocharge the engine instead of an engine swap.
