2012年11月29日 · That would not be good. Sure was good stuff though. I think Brownells sells Belgium Blue, will have to check it out. I have hot blue tanks set up and operating but will have to replace the salts some day soon. Only using them once or twice a year is a pain and was just thinking of going to a "one tank" blue to simplify life a bit.

Suspend the parts to blue using the steel wire to suspend them from a rod or piece of wood across the top of the pot. Let them remain in the boiling solution for 20 to 30 minutes depending on the steel and the depth of finish desired.

Ordinary hot salt bluing can also be gorgeous but can't quite capture the colors that the old methods did. Still, even with hot salt bluing, if the metal prep is brought to a sufficient level, you can be amazed at the depth of gloss and shine.

2013年11月26日 · Howdy, For quite a number of years, I helped a buddy of mine's gunsmith business. I've cleaned, repaired, polished and refinished many a gun during that time. I've done a lot of polishing for hot blue salts and blasting for parkerizing. I know the difference in color between Brownell's Oxynate #7 and Du-lite salts.

I now come before the council fire of the elders to ask another question. What do you guys use to stop your bluing salts from creeping up the sides of the tank and onto floor?
