Does anyone have experience with Cording, also called Axillary Web Syndrome (AWS) I recently found a rope like structures under the skin in my armpit. I asked my radiation oncologist about and he explained it was called Cording and is scar tissue. I had a lumpectomy and few lymph nodes removed 6 months ago and I did not notice any cording.

2023年11月18日 · I think it is normal for some people. I had a really hard time recovering from the Sentinel Node surgery. I had mine August 28th and I still have numbness and occasionally have pain. I started seeing PT several weeks after that surgery and that was the only thing that started to help. I had cording and could hardly straighten my arm.

2020年9月2日 · I keep telling my family it feels like a chunk of cement. On top of that I have axillary webbing (cording) three times now. Finishing up with my physical therapist who suggested I get back to wearing the swell spot under my compression bra. What a difference that has made in that "cement" area as well as axillary webbing.

2019年7月25日 · @chipmaria Not sure how it works for men, but the below site gives you examples of the different swell spots available which help break up lymph flow plus helps to soften up ridges caused by radiation.

2019年4月17日 · Once the month-long class is completed, as patients we do those twice weekly at home and for me it takes about 30 minutes. I have not had lymphedema per se, but twice now have experienced axillary web syndrome or cording and cannot express to you how important the exercises are. I am so thankful you found a therapist who has helped you.

2024年12月13日 · I just finished 16 rounds of photon radiation on my whole left breast and axillary lymph nodes. My doctor had prescribed proton beam therapy, but my insurance denied it, and upheld their decision through two appeals and an external review. Very frustrating, but I’m mostly doing ok. My skin is very damaged - burning and blisters, but healing.
