Amazing Grace (waltz) on The Session
Amazing Grace Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found; Was blind, but now I see. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fear relieved. How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares, We have already come.

Like a lot of those old colloquialisms I have’nt heard it used for years. “Stone the crows” was another one, meaning “struth” .
Nut Brown Maiden (polka) on The Session
This tune is is also the melody of a song of that name. Here are the lyrics: Horo, my nut brown maiden, Hiri, my nut brown maiden; Horo, ro, maiden, For she’s the maid for me. Chorus-----Her eye so mildly beaming, Her look so frank and free; In waking and in dreaming, Is evermore with me. Oh Mary, mild-eyed Mary, By land or on the sea;
An Buinnean Bui (barndance) on The Session
It was seen again a year or two ago, as I read in the paper. Al O Donnell, Sean Cannon and Liam Clancy all have versions. It really is an amazing song in the Irish though, and the English translation does it no great justice, I advise you to check out a …
Bonnie Dundee (jig) on The Session
The chorus, “Come fill up my cup, &c…” was based on an older song, “Jocky’s Escape from Dundee”: "Come fill up my cup, come fill up my can, Come saddle my horse and call up my man, Come open the gates and let me go free, And shew me the way from bonny Dundee." …which in turn is based on an older broadside song famed for its vulgarity:
