The Women’s Opportunity Resource Center (WORC) is celebrating Women during National Entrepreneurship Week by honoring entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia region that have had a significant impact on the community as an individual or through their business.

The Start Smart business model employs next level marketing and formal business structures incorporated into a highly developed written business plan. Successful graduates will have developed and implemented legal business operations and are invited to participate in the WORC micro-loan program.

The WORC program teaches refugees to become self-sufficient through saving and asset accumulation. Over a period of 6 to 24 months, participants will save a minimum of $40 per month which will be matched at a %100 rate up to $2,000 per individual/household for first time home purchase, post secondary education, micro-enterprise, or car purchase.
