WAIM (Windham Area Interfaith Ministry) provides basic needs and support to area residents with insufficient income. Our goal is to keep people safely housed, meet basic material needs and connect them to resources that sustain their stability.

WAIM is dedicated to helping our neighbors struggling to make ends meet. Emergency financial assistance from WAIM can help with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, transportation expenses, and other basic needs.

WAIM distributes donated clothing, furniture, appliances, and other household items to people in need in our community for free. Tons of useful things are kept out of local landfills and welcomed into the homes of individuals and families who give them a second life.

WAIM was founded in 1984 as an association of churches, synagogues, fellowships, and concerned citizens to help neighbors in need in the greater Windham area.

We match those families with people like you who wish to “adopt” them. You choose the family size, provide a gift card for the holiday meal and gifts for each family member in the household, and determine with the family whether gifts will be delivered to WAIM or their home.
