How to fix smoothing or "Soap Opera Effect" with dolby vision
2021年9月15日 · For regular content, I was able to disable soap opera effect by going into my advanced picture settings and turning off smoothing. Unfortunately, every time I would watch something with Dolby Vision, the smoothing effect would turn back on. When entering regular settings from my home screen I had smoothing turned off.

2022年10月1日 · After those few months, I put the TV in storage and haven't used it until just yesterday. Suddenly, I was getting the soap opera effect, despite the setting being turned off and me having not changed any settings from when it was working fine. It was more subtle than how it looks with it turned on, but it was absolutely still there.

2022年3月28日 · I purchased my C1OLED a few months ago and am really happy with the picture quality. However in some instances, even with TruMotion off, noise off (pretty much everything off except Cinema Screen) I STILL feel a motion smoothing "soap opera effect" when watching certain shows, particularly with camera pans. An example is Euphoria on HBO.

I can cycle through the Picture Modes from Dynamic to Movie or filmmaker mode, but then the screen gets a bit darker. This was easier to figure out on my old Samsung 55" where you just turn off auto motion.

If soap opera effect is essentially high frame rate, I generally like it. If it’s uneven, it’s a problem, but I don’t think that’s what the term refers to. For movies specifically, there is a case to be made for sticking to low frame rates, as it keeps a filter of unreality on the visuals.

I have gone into settings to turn off the motion blur or the 'soap opera effect' by going to picture settings - expert - Picture clarity and changed it to 'off'. 2019年12月26日 · By adding frames, the motion resembles soap operas which were shot and broadcast at higher frame rates; hence soap opera effect. Judder and stutter are different btw. You can have stutter without judder. 24fps stutter is motion choppy motion of moving objects because of low frame rate.

C1 here. All motion processing off and I've yet to see any soap opera effect after 1.5 years. Also, sharpness is turned way down. All that motion BS and extra sharpening exists for the retail environment. Takes like 3 minutes to turn all the image degrading "enhancements" off and you'll never have to touch them again.
