60th Anniversary Excalibur Statue – NINESIXFOUR
When established on 4 September 1964, the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) adopted the sand-coloured beret, cap badge and parachute wings of the British SAS. The cap badge represents the downward pointing sword 'Excalibur' wreathed in flames. The British version of the cap badge is woven, with different types for officers and other ranks.
