There are 21 scenic byways, comprising more than 450 miles, throughout the state of South Carolina.

Little River, S.C. (May 12, 2023) – Starting at 6 p.m. Monday, May 15, SCDOT will close the Little River Swing Bridge over the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to vehicle traffic and navigation for bridge maintenance. The bridge is expected to reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16. Vehicle traffic may detour over the neighboring U.S. 17 bridge.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announces that beginning Tuesday, April 21st at 4:00 AM, the Socastee Swing Bridge, located on Dick Pond Road, will be closed for 48 hours for much needed repair.
