Petoro is a state-owned limited company which manages the SDFI in the Norwegian oil and gas sector. These holdings comprise a third of Norway’s oil and gas reserves and associated facilities.

Petoro is the licensee and manager of the gas infrastructure on behalf of the state, as part of the State’s Direct Financial Interest (SDFI) scheme. Petoro manages the central gas infrastructure separately from the field portfolio, ensuring that the company does not place special emphasis on the impact on the rest of the SDFI portfolio.
