NGC 2903 is an isolated barred spiral galaxy in the equatorial constellation of Leo, positioned about 1.5° due south of Lambda Leonis. [10] It was discovered by German-born astronomer William Herschel, who cataloged it on November 16, 1784.

NGC 2903 is a Spiral Galaxy in the Leo constellation. NGC 2903 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year. Given its visual magnitude of 9.07, NGC 2903 is visible with the help of a binocular with a 60-70mm aperture or a small telescope.
