2024年12月17日 · LAKE CHARLES – McNeese has announced its four non-conference football games for the 2025 season. The Southland Conference will release the league slate after the holidays. The Cowboys will open up at home on August 30 against Louisiana Christian, formerly Louisiana College, in the first matchup since the 1966 season.

2024年8月30日 · McNeese (0-1) is coming off a tough 26-23 loss at No. 21 Tarleton State last Saturday. In that game, the Cowboys fell behind 26-7 in the first half but mounted a fierce second half rally where they scored 16 straight points and dominated both sides of the ball.

2024年12月2日 · On Monday, McNeese Vice President and Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer announced the hiring of Cowboy Football legend and Hall of Fame coach Matt Viator to return as the head coach for the Cowboys, a position he held from 2006-2015 and recorded a school record 78 wins, four Southland Conference titles, and five playoff appearances.

Goff came to McNeese after he led Valdosta State to the program’s sixth NCAA National Championship appearance on Dec. 18, 2021 and back-to-back Gulf South Conference titles in his two playing seasons as head coach in Titletown (three overall seasons).
