Steeped in history, the Town takes its name from a colonial-era fort built by the British and a grist mill on nearby Steele Creek. The Catawba Indians made their home here for many years. Scotch-Irish settlers began arriving in the 1750s and 1760s and a small settlement soon developed.

2024 Strawberry Pageants - Fort Mill, SC
The annual pageants kicked off Fort Mill’s SC Strawberry Festival month of events, which will culminate on May 4, 2024 with the 15th Annual SC Strawberry Festival. Up first to face the four-judge panel were 45 Little Miss contestants who competed with both fun and formal outfits.
