Professor Li received his B. S. in polymer chemistry at Jilin University, China, his M. S. and Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He was a postdoctoral director fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he later became a Technical Staff Member before joining the faculty at WSU in 2000.

I'm a final year PhD student in the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University. I'm advised by Deepak Pathak, and my work is supported by the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Previously, I was an electrical engineering and computer science major at UC Berkeley, where I received my BS and MS.

He is now the head of Advanced Intelligent Robotics Lab in IPAB and his research focuses on a variety of control technologies involving robust control, optimisation and machine learning for solving challenging problems in dynamic motion control (manipulation, grasping, locomotion), and complex behaviours of mobile and legged robots.

Founder and director of the Machine Learning @ Purdue Accelerator Program, with the primary focus to bridge the gap between students who are seeking to develop foundational Machine Learning skills, and the lack of opportunities available.
