2023年11月12日 · The VC10 was the last passenger aircraft built by Vickers-Armstrong before the company was absorbed into British Aerospace. It was initially intended to be a military transport jet but was offered to BOAC when the RAF scrapped its plans.

2023年5月3日 · The VC10 was capable of landing and taking off at lower speeds than the rival 707 and its engines could produce considerably more thrust, providing good 'hot and high' performance, and was considered to be a safer aircraft.

The last Vickers-Armstrongs aircraft design was the Type 1101 VC10, the first of which (G-ARTA) was flown for the first time by G R 'Jock' Bryce and Brian Trubshawfrom Weybridge on 29th June 1962.
