2009年3月25日 · What are the best scope mounts to use to mount a 3x9-40mm scope to a Savage 99? Currently the 99 I have is a 1950 model and not drilled for mounts. I may keep it that way and buy another (:-) for use with a scope.

2018年11月11日 · So if you see the 'SAVAGE' and 'Model 99' on the left side of receiver, it would indicate it is factory tapped for scope mounts-if stamping is absent on side and on top, if rifle has mounts installed or there are plug screws, the rifle has been tapped (non factory), ie. not original. That's my take. Thank you for the replies.

2012年3月4日 · I bought a savage 99EG in 300 savage, it was drilled and tapped by someone along the line and came with a set of ring/mounts on it, the type with the see thru's for the iron sights and i dont like them, i want to get a regular set of mounts so i can just mount a scope on closer to the barrel, either ring/mounts or just plain mounts and rings seperate.

2017年3月13日 · I recently picked up a 99 (not sure the sub model) in .300 Savage made in 1956. It is factory drilled & tapped for scope bases and I'm wondering about which way to go. I've seen the one piece bases and rings by Leupold and the various two piece weaver mounts. Seems like the one piece would be a lot more accurate and be more appropriate to the 99.

2023年6月29日 · Having played with a few "Golden Age" scope mounts (although admittedly not a Stith) I think my Model 99 .250 Savage will keep the tang sight it came with. It's a nice adjustable Lyman. The early mounts are pretty cool, though. I've had good luck with the Leupold Adjusto Mounts but the Beuhler has me scratching my head.

These mounts allow a scope to be mounted on a vintage 99 without ruining its collector value by drilling holes in the receiver. This is a 1" windage adjustable version fitted with the new rear SPLIT RING manufactured by Campfire member Lightfoot.

2019年10月13日 · The knowledgeable people are in the Savage collectors forum down below. All I can say for sure is my 1952 EG isn't drilled and tapped for scope mounts. If it has the roll stamp on top it wasn't drilled at the factory. Roll stamp on the side it was.

2011年10月12日 · 20 yrs ago I bought a 99 with the rotary magazine in .308. Mounted a scope, k-6 weaver with no mounting problems, At sight in I couldnt find the paper at 50 yds using all the adjustment in the scope. Long story short, the mounting screws were offest to the left of the reciever by a considerable amount.
