Oct-4 - Wikipedia
Oct-4 (octamer-binding transcription factor 4), also known as POU5F1 (POU domain, class 5, transcription factor 1), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the POU5F1 gene. [5] Oct-4 is a homeodomain transcription factor of the POU family. It is critically involved in the self-renewal of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells. [6]
OCT4 (Octamer-Binding Transcription Factor 4) | SpringerLink
2018年1月1日 · OCT4 is a member of the class 5 POU (Pit-Oct-Unc) family of homeodomain transcription factors. It is so named because of its specific binding to the canonical octamer motif (with consensus sequence ATGCA/TAAT) at target gene promoter or enhancer regions.
October 4 - Wikipedia
AD 23 – Rebels sack the Chinese capital Chang'an during a peasant rebellion.; 1209 – Otto IV is crowned Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire by Pope Innocent III. [1]1302 – The Byzantine–Venetian War comes to an end.
Role of Oct4 in the early embryo development - PMC
Oct4 is a key component of the pluripotency regulatory network, and its reciprocal interaction with Cdx2 has been shown to be a determinant of either the self-renewal of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) or their differentiation into trophoblast. Oct4 of ...
The Role and Specific Mechanism of OCT4 in Cancer Stem Cells ...
This review mainly proposes the specific role of OCT4 in CSCs from the epigenetic modification of OCT4 and complexes, non-coding RNA and signaling pathways related to OCT4, which may provide multiple targets for the treatment of CSCs to achieve the purpose of extending patient life.
Transcriptional regulation of the Oct4 gene, a master gene ...
Oct4 is one of the most important transcription factors required to maintain an undifferentiated state (self-renewal) and pluripotency of human and mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells as well as early embryonic cells. In addition, Oct4 is the only known ...
OCT4: dynamic DNA binding pioneers stem cell pluripotency
OCT4 was discovered more than two decades ago as a transcription factor specific to early embryonic development. Early studies with OCT4 were descriptive and looked at determining the functional roles of OCT4 in the embryo as well as in pluripotent cell lines derived from embryos.
An Overview on the Complexity of OCT4: at the Level of DNA ...
OCT4 plays critical roles in self-renewal and pluripotency maintenance of embryonic stem cells, and is considered as one of the main stemness markers. It also has pivotal roles in early stages of embryonic development.
Stem cell pluripotency and transcription factor Oct4
In this review, we summarize the structure and function of Oct4 and address issues related to Oct4 function in maintaining totipotency or pluripotency of embryonic stem cells.
Oct4: The Final Frontier, Differentiation Defining Pluripotency
2013年6月24日 · The transcription factor OCT4 is a cornerstone of pluripotency, and yet OCT4 has also been associated with differentiation in a number of contexts. Reporting in this issue of Developmental Cell, Frum et al. (2013) show that OCT4’s major early activity in the blastocyst is to support primitive endoderm differentiation.
