They are interchangeable, in my book, as long as you are talking about "one part" epoxies. My local, Ace Hardware, will "tint" anything I bring them. Been there.

2012年4月12日 · Interlux does suggest not to buff Brightside in their tech data and in their online help section. I repainted our 35 year old trawler for the second time 3 years ago. The boat stays in the water and we buff and polish every year - the paint still looks fresh.

The durability of the paint is going to depend on how well you take care of it after it is applied. It also depends on how well you prep.

Interlux makes many bottom paints, as mentioned. I doubt you will have any issues. I would suggest going to the Intrrlux website for further tips/clarification.

2011年4月19日 · Used Interlux Brightside on the topside of my Starcraft. The interlux people say that after the last coat of paint, no wet sanding or buffing is recommended. What are you guys opinions on this. p.s. Also, if I were just to buff it, would I just dry buff it, or spray some water on it?

2020年5月16日 · The original surface was Brightside that I put on (with roll/tip) about 7 years ago. I sanded everything down to the original gelcoat/previous primer, then added a few coats of primer, sanding in-between coats as Interlux recommends on their instructions. I believe I used 220grit after the final coat of primer and before the first layer of topcoat.

Prep is key to a good job. The idea that gelcoat cannot be painted is a myth.

2006年12月17日 · Re: Spraying Brightside Paint I sprayed my boat completely out doors with no cover. I used 2 part urathane. sprayed it early in the morning before the sun got too warm. wetted the ground around the boat to keep the dust down. it came out better than it would in a booth.
