Also having the same issues, Hero 3/3+ unable to 'reset' back to factory, by removing the battery and SD card. I have updated the last versions of firmware and apps, but both still not set back to factory camera name and password.

This means they no longer receive customer support, software/firmware updates, batteries and replacement parts are no longer available, and cannot be repaired by GoPro. Quik is no longer supported for this camera.

Reformat Card. 2. go to gopro site to update firmware and wifi (you can reset password there) 3. download folder with reset password. 4. unzip update folder, make sure unzipped folder is called "UPDATE" in caps. 5. for Hero 3+, copy and paste entire unzipped "UPDATE" folder into SD card.

Hello . The only way to change or reset the Wi-Fi password of a HERO3+ camera is to do a manual firmware update.
