The RGM-86R GM III is a mass-production general-purpose mobile suit introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Its design was later updated for the novel and OVA Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

The 'RGM-86R Nouvel GM III' (RGM-86R ヌーベル・ジムIII, Nūberu Jimu Tsri?) is a mass-production mobile suit which first appeared in the photonovel Gundam Sentinel. An improved variant of the RGM-86R GM III which was a newly designed GM III instead of a retrofitted RGM-79R GM II like the former.

2011年7月7日 · This High Grade Universal Century GM III features all that great articulation that makes HGUC kits so loved. This GM also comes with extra marking stickers, missile pods that feature a part that can be swapped so the pods look open or closed, a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, and large missile launchers.

The GM III was an upgraded GM II at heart, but featured a more powerful generator and improved sensors, making it a practically new mobile suit. The unit's survivability was increased by adding Gundarium Alloy to the armor and strengthening the overall frame.

Not counting resin kits, this Gunpla is the first HGUC iteration of the GM III unit. Although the box label it as Gundam ZZ version, in terms of details and proportions, its resembles the redesigned version by Hajime Katoki.

The RGM-86R GM III is the Earth Federation’s most significant upgrade to the GM Mobile Suit program. The Federation used technology from the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II Titans to develop the RGM-86R GM III, allowing some units to outperform the Gundam Mk-II.
