2022年3月18日 · Upon completion of those trials, John F. Kennedy returned to the yard and wrapped up her overhaul on 25 November, one week earlier than scheduled. On 26 November, she returned to Pier 12, Naval Station, Norfolk. The ship was redesignated from CVA-67 to CV-67 effective 1 December 1974.

KENNEDY (CV-67) and the attached Carrier Air Wing SEVENTEEN (CVW-17) provided significant support to coalition ground forces during the Second Battle of Fallujah, a major operation that took place in November-December 2004 at the pinnacle of the Iraq War. CV-67 was the only aircraft carrier deployed to the Arabian Gulf at that time.
