UREC develops its staff through professional growth, hands-on experience, education, and workmanship. University Recreation employs around 400 student employees in a variety of program areas.

The Department of University Recreation (UREC) is a major campus-wide service unit in the Division of Student Affairs. UREC serves the university community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant.

UREC Fitness Center. Arkansas Union, 2nd floor 435 N. Garland Ave. Fayetteville, AR 72701. This facility features almost 6,000 square feet of fitness floor space, a 1,500-square-foot group exercise room, and men's and women's locker and shower facilities. The facility is available to all current UREC members.

The UREC Tennis Center features 12 tennis courts (four courts with backboards to allow for individual play) and a service facility that includes an equipment checkout center and restrooms. It is recommended that participants bring their own equipment with them to play.

All UREC facilities (HPER building, UREC Fitness Center, UREC Tennis Center & UREC Sports Complex) will open and be operational according to University Delayed Opening specified time. All UREC programs and activities will follow their regular schedule once the University is open.

UREC Members may use the University Recreation Member Portal to safely and securely purchase recreation activities online from a home, office or library computer. University of Arkansas students, faculty, and staff should log in using their username and password.

All UARK students and current UREC members automatically have a membership to the UREC Tennis Center. All UREC Tennis memberships must be purchased at UREC facilities during membership office hours of operation.

The UREC Fitness Center features almost 6,000 square feet of gym floor space and fully equipped with men's and women's locker and shower facilities. This facility is also conveniently located in the middle of the University of Arkansas campus in the Arkansas Union.
