Historic Fort Reno, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and use of the historical and cultural resources of Fort Reno.

Fort Reno began as a military camp in 1874 in the Indian Wars Era. It was established at the insistence of Agent John Miles at the Darlington Indian Agency, to pacify and protect the Cheyennes and Arapahos there.

Fort Reno is one of Oklahoma’s most historic landmarks with a very rich and extensive history from local, state, national and even world history in one location! You can visit our museum six days a week all year long or book a group tour for a more extensive experience!

The Fort Reno Post Chapel was built in 1944 by the Prisoners of War that were captured in Africa during World War II and brought here to this now, historical landmark, well-hidden just west of Oklahoma City.
