The Daily Record has put together a list of some of the best places to live in Scotland, from underrated cities to lush green towns to peaceful fishing villages.

The Times argued however that their Scotland table exposed the limitations of the data. Na h-Eileanan Siar, Orkney and Shetland topped their rankings with great public services, strong communities and cheap houses to boot.
