Roy Smalley is hanging up the mic. After 22 seasons calling Minnesota Twins games, the former shortstop and more recent TV analyst announced his retirement from broadcasting on Wednesday.

For more than three decades, Roy Smalley has been on televisions throughout the Twin Cities — first as a player, one who played for 10 seasons with Twins, and then as a broadcaster and analyst.

The Chicago Cubs currently have a movement of young players entering the big leagues. Last year, position players Michael Bush and Pete Crow-Armstrong got significant MLB playing time.
