Almost half of women battling ovarian cancer in Scotland are believed to be facing life-threatening waits for surgery.

The burgeoning private healthcare industry claims its current building boom will "take pressure off the public system".

The elective surgery waiting list is expected to be cut by an extra 10,000 patients before July under the plan.
