The European Parliament has voted to pass a law to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from trucks, which will require most new heavy-duty vehicles sold in the EU from 2040 to be emissions-free.

The carbon dioxide is then taken to a geological storage site, typically by pipeline, rail truck or ship. The carbon dioxide is then stored underground usually at least a mile below the ground.
