The language spoken by the Amish is Pennsylvania Dutch, a mix of German and English. Because of our language similarities, it is easy to start conversations as we visit Amish farms and quilt shops.

The Berks History Center announced the continuation of its in-person and online Pennsylvania Dutch Language Classes which offer an immersive experience in the culture of the Pennsylvania Dutch.
