Established by the U.S. Congress in 1865 as a military burial ground, the 116-acre cemetery is the final resting place of more than 17,000 Union Soldiers.

It's a beautiful setting and it was quite moving to see so many headstones and so many of the Federal soldiers buried there are unknown. We were on a bus tour so saw them from the road.MstqMI的完整评论

The only way to see this is by walking. You can no longer drive into it! It was 90 when we were in the park, and the last thing I wanted to do was walk down a hill in that heat. So very disappointed …KathyE739的完整评论
