Absolutely. In fact when they open the doors anybody in a wheelchair or handicap gets in first. It would be no problem at all

The armrests do not go up in the seats that I have sat in over the years at the Gammage, and the seats are not that wide, so plus-sized people would have difficulties. However, I suggest that you give the Gammage box office a call (Tel: 866-215-8459), as I've seen some fairly large people in the foyers at event intermissions, so maybe they have seating areas that do accommodate plus-sizes? I have found the Gammage staff to be extremely helpful every time that I have attended an event or called for information.

Call the theater to be sure. I would imagine that would be defined by the ADA, not the theater. The first 15 rows are the VIP section and getting seating in that section costs at least $1,200 per person on top of the subscription cost so I'm guessing they would be very stingy in giving away that sort of revenue per seat. The only handicapped seating I've noticed is in the front row, which is a terrible place to be IMHO And the obviously handicapped people are used wheeled in and loaded into their seats with some difficulty. They are installing an elevator now so they may be planning to accommodate handicapped people upstairs.
