Can anyone recommend a place near the border (ideally not a currency exchange window) where they give change in Zim$ ? Maybe a restaurant or something close to the bridge that won't find it weird if I ask for my change back in all the coins? :)

Hello. We spent two nights in Victoria Falls. We took both a walking tour along the gorge across from the Zimbabwe portion of the falls and the helicopter flight over the falls. While the helicopter flight is expensive, we thought the view was worth the money. We took videos with our camera and cell phone. The pilot made a few circuits around the falls so that both sides of the aircraft could get a great view. While I agree with Quaker1 that the amount of water will influence your experience, it seems that you have this trip booked already. My understanding is that October is the low flow season at the falls. I looked at the Zambezi River Authority website which confirms a low flow at this time. Thus, you will not likely see a lot of water and a helicopter tour might not be very exciting. We enjoyed our Zambezi River cruise, which was on a small, but comfortable boat with a few other people. We saw a few crocodiles and hippos, many birds, and an amazing sunset over the river. I'm unsure if the sun will be setting over the River at this time of year. Its best to check with the tour companies. We greatly enjoyed staying at the Batonka Guest House. It's a bit outside of the central part of town, but was clean, comfortable, and peaceful, with excellent staff. I found this website to provide good information about Vic Falls at the Victoria Falls-Guide website.

I know credit cards are accepted there, but I want to have some cash on hand too. Any suggestions on what a reasonable amount of cash to have on hand would be? Thanks!
