Hello Lydia! Most of the shops in Depoe Bay are artsy (?) in nature. There are some very interesting souvenir shops, kite shops and little cafes and bakeries. The Sea Breeze café is one of my favorites with fresh rolls and pastries. One of the most important things about Depot Bay (smallest harbor in the world) is the presence of whales in the harbor and easy viewing from shore. I have seen them as close as 100 feet from the rocks amongst the kelp beds. There is also a wonderful whale interpretation center right on Highway 101 in the center of town. A majority of shops are located 11 miles South in Newport. That includes novelty shops like Ripley's Believe it or Not; Wax Museum and the fishing fleet from Deadliest Catch, Dungeons Cove. The sites around the area include lighthouses, Cape Foul Weather and of course Rocky Creek way site which is free and good viewing for whales as well. This is by far one of the most beautiful stretches of coast anywhere in the world although it can get quite cold and windy during the winter.
