Hi, Just wondering if the turtles are there all year round or if they are a seasonal thing? eg: summer only. Is the best time after lunch .. mid afternoon ?

The best time to see turtles is early in the day before most people arrive at the beech. I suggest heading there at sunrise for the best chance at seeing turtles. Having said that, we did see a turtle on the beech at 4pm with all sorts of people around. Have fun and happy turtle watching.

From what I have read There are tours online that offer tours that include the North Shore and this beach would be part of it. I don't think you would spend very long at this particular beach it would just to be to just stop and see the turtles and then move on to the other places on the North Shore. We stayed four nights at the North Shore and five in Waikki and had our own vehicle and drove to the parts of the island we want to see. A rental would be well worth the money and that way you can explore at your own pace and see what you want. For the money spend on a tour you could rent a car for the same money especially if there are A few people. Waikki has a bus that we didn't use since we had a car but takes you to the different spots in Waikki. I am uncertain if it goes to the North Shore though.
