Parking is all along the sidewalk, there is plenty of parking spaces, because people are leaving and arriving all the time. We parked right in front of the entrance. Dont worry about it

Yes they are better from the park. Avoid weekends, come early morning and be careful where you park. If you are looking for a selfie with the sign there are ample opportunities on your way if you hike to MT. Lee, but ultimately you will end up behind the sign. Remember, this is a residential neighborhood and a Very High Fire Hazard Zone. There is a lot of smoking (illegal) so be sure to have an escape route in your mind that doesn't involve a car. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is becoming a real problem.
