Over near the water, you'd probably be fine. Your problem would be driving through the entrance between the dunes. It was a bit soft and deep there. I have an awd Nissan Rogue and had no problems. On the day that we were there, we could have probably done it with 2wd, but I'm not sure I'd want to risk it.
