All I can find on the website says "Active military" and "retired military" - my husband served for 6 years but didn't retire from the military (honorable discharge, at the end of his 6 years)... ? I cannot find clarification on that and they are not open to call this early in the morning.

I'm assuming "Active" doesn't mean "Active Duty only", so he just may show his military ID and this should work.

We do have specific areas for our younger guests such as Polymer Playhouse and the toddler area in the VROOM exhibit. You can find more information on our under 7 years old exhibits on our website - please search using the keywords youth exhibits.

No parking is not free. They have a garage just to west of their building. Pay before you leave building for parking. They offer a huge discounts for veterans.

It depends on your definition of close. If you walk straight up E 9th street on the left hand side is a popular burger place called the Winking Lizard. There are some other scattered places but not right in that area. Walking distance but with small children it might be easier to hit the food trucks.
