I’ve read very recent reviews by 2 different users/reviewers and one said the dog beach is great and the other said it’s closed? Which is it folks? Can someone help me out? Is the dog beach open and if so is it worth a 3.5 hour drive for us to get there and stay for a couple of days with our dog? Thanks all! (Or if you can recommend a great place in OH to take your dog for a couple of days where she can play and swim freely.

The dog beach is closed. Last year, 2018, it was open but very trecherous for dogs. They have to maneuver alot of big rocks. Now, this year (2019) the even higher lake levels have swallowed up their shrinking beach.

You can access the beach year round. Lifeguards, snack bar, and rentals are only open during the summer. There is a port o potty during the times the indoor bathrooms are locked.
