Wind through exhibits that subtly shift with the geopolitical and cultural transformations of the decade that saw Martin Luther King, Jr. rise and fall, the Vietnam War unfold, the Summer of Love bloom, and Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. Greetings I’m looking at doing a road trip up there on October 26 to visit the museum and check out the Woodstock grounds. Driving all the way from Maryland. Planning to depart here early morning to avoid traffic to reach there around Noon. Hope to spend 4-5 hours there to see everything. Questions: Any special rates for Museum admission for Federal Employees? Are there tour guides available during the day to show visitors/tourists around the area? On my to see list: The Museum, The Monument, where the stage was built, the peace sign on the grounds, Yasgurs Farm Isn’t there a walking trail in the woods And a lake, pond where people had bathed/swam in?? Anything else I missed?

1. Don't believe there is any discount for federal emlpoyees, just senior rates. 2. Encountered 5-6 staff members answering all questions & directions-the monument & stage area. 3. Don't believe there is any Yasgur Farm, remember this August 1969, only a large field in the country side. 4. NO walking trails that I know of, however asking a staff member might help you. 5. Didn't see any pond, yet wasn't looking for one. For all I know pond may have drained. I believe you have covered what's available. Four to five hours should cover the museum time, much to read, view & listen to. My first visit was only the museum, didn't have time for the monument-only a large rock with a bronze plaque-or the stage area. During my second visit-the 50th anniversary weekend-visited both, which are within walking distance of walking of each other & located to the north-3/8-1/2 mile-off Hurd Road. Have no idea what your time schedule is or where you might be staying-I stayed at the Best Western in Monticello to the east 9.6 miles. For one day see as much as possible. Museum opens 10:00 closes at 7:00.
