I am planning on visiting Museum Bargello in the very beginning of August. Is it necessary to purchase tickets in advance? I have read conflicting things. Also if done at the museum is it cheaper than the 11 Euro I have found online?

No need for advanced tix- it’s never crowded. We went on June 14 at about 10:30am and walked right in.
Most probably yes. They have some limitation for Sundays & Mondays, but 2nd of Jan is Tuesday and there is no bank holiday in Italy on that day, as far as I know. Enjoy!
I'm afraid to go - the service seems to be pretty rude judging by some reviews... I would like to be answered by the museum authorities --- did the quality of service in the museum rise or not?

Hi In all honesty I didn't find them particularly engaging but definitely not rude. I would really recommend visiting the museum
